If given the choice, most office-bound workers would prefer to work from their own home. The advantages are obvious – you can plan your day around your personal lifestyle. You can work at your own pace, collect the kids on time, walk the dog, feed the cat. The current pandemic has made this now a necessity rather than a choice for millions of quarantined workers. Already for many businesses and employees this shift in lifestyle will never return to the “old normal” of the daily commute. Since the first wave of COVID-19, many companies have decided to make home-working a permanent part of their infrastructure. For the forseeable future, with self-isolation periods and employers doing all they can to reduce spreading the virus, working from home is an important factor in our work lives. The new focus will be on creating the perfect work-from-home office to adapt to these changes. In many cases the office simply does not fit in with at-home situations, often restricted by the availability of space.
